Yesterday evening, we stopped in one of Italy’s most diverse landscapes: Peschiera del Garda. After traveling about 400 kilometers, we couldn’t wait to stretch our legs in the sun and enjoy the view. The evening brought us some fascinating moments during a walk right along Lake Garda. We recharged our batteries for today’s destination: Rome.

Even though tomorrow will be an exciting day for us, we are already impressed by our tour.

Tomorrow brings the highlights for us: the General Audience with the Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, and the blessing of the mobile shower unit for women and the soap dispenser with Berlin Archbishop Dr. Heiner Koch, together with Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin.

On our way to Rome, we made a stop in the Bavarian capital.

We were thrilled to have the opportunity to visit our colleagues at SkF Munich and showcase our two vans: the shower van for women and the ‘Seifenbüchse’ for homeless children and youth.

A heartfelt thank you to the entire SkF Munich team for their interest, the professional discussions, and the excellent coffee!
Hopefully, we made a lasting impression in Munich, so that shower vans will soon be available in Bavaria as well to offer help to people on the streets.

With sunshine and plenty of positive feedback in our luggage, we continue our journey toward Rome – next stop: Lake Garda. Tomorrow we’ll head straight to Rome.

From Sunday service at the Frauenkirche to the presentation of our vans and back on the road – this day was another real do-si-do!

Our day began right at Nuremberg’s Main Market Square. There, we set up our mobile units for presentations and demonstrations. Afterward, our board member, Rita Brandt, attended Sunday Mass at the beautiful “Frauenkirche”. The absolute highlight: Ms. Brandt had the opportunity to speak about our tour and our mission during the service. What an incredible honor!

After the service, we welcomed numerous interested people to and inside our mobile units. Through many great conversations, we were able to demonstrate how important our work is. After all, we want to raise awareness of mobile street social work as part of #roadtorome4home—because it provides direct and immediate help.

In Nuremberg, our newest crew member, Rebecca, also joined us. Reinforced and full of enthusiasm, we set off for Munich in the early afternoon. The next adventures are already waiting for us there!

Today we were out and about in Kneipp’s hometown—and we have to say: it’s a beautiful city, and a great choice of location. It’s a perfect fit for the products that are accompanying us on our tour thanks to a generous donation.

And Würzburg is bustling: people everywhere on their way to the Catholic Day, encounters, conversations, and a real buzz of life in this beautiful city.

Due to space constraints, only our “Duschmobil” unit for women was with us today. We are all the more grateful to the Sisters of the Redeemer in Würzburg, who provided us with a spot on their grounds—more specifically, in the Zobelhof between the church and the Kappelbau.

There we stood side by side with the truck from the Archdiocese of Berlin—right in the thick of things and drawing many curious glances at our mobile unit.

Thank you to the Sisters of the Redeemer for their support, and thank you again to Kneipp for the generous product donation that is accompanying us on #roadtorome4home.

Early this morning we set off for Rome with the Duschmobil for women and the Seifenbüchse.

Many colleagues were there to see us off and wish us good luck on the tour.

The Mayor of Pankow, Dr. Cordelia Koch, was also present at the start of the tour against homelessness – thank you very much for your support!

Every road trip needs plenty of coffee. Many thanks to our café “das agnes” for that!

First Stop: Würzburg!

We’re arriving in Würzburg today —> stay tuned: there’ll be plenty going on in Würzburg & the networking begins.

In about two weeks, on the 15th of May, we’ll be setting off from Berlin to Rome with our Duschmobil for women and the Seifenbüchse for homeless youth and children – and a strong mission in mind.

Our route takes us via Würzburg, Nuremberg and Munich to the Italian capital. But for us, it’s not just about arriving in Rome; it’s about what we’ll be highlighting along the way:

Homelessness is everywhere.

We will be on the road from 15 May to 21 May and will share our experiences, stories and encounters with you here before and during this time.
